RMG export can double to $18 billion in 3 years

Readymade garment (RMG) exports could be doubled in the next three years to $18 billion, if the Government tackles hold-ups in banking, customs and the main ports, said Anwar-Ul-Alam Chowdhury Parvez, new President of Bangladesh’s Apex Trade Association in garment sector. He said our target is to increase the RMG exports from the existing $8 billion a year to $18 billi-
on. Bangladesh has a huge opportunity to enhance its exports especially to the US and EU, as in these markets demand for RMG items is increasing by 12% a year.
