INDIA ITME 2008 OVER 750 EXHIBITORS

The “INDIA ITME 2008” organised by India International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society (India ITME Society) is on till November 22. The exhibition, held once every four years has attracted worldwide attention from participants and business visitors alike for the last 30 years. Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, chairman, India ITME Society, said: “This exhibition on text-
ile machinery and accessories has gained in magnitude and prominence over the years. All leading manufacturers of textile machinery and components from across the world have booked space in the exhibition to show their latest technology machinery. The participants include prominent manufacturers of textile machinery and components from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, UK, USA, China, Turkey, Brazil and other parts of the globe besides the Indian manufacturers.” Nearly, 750 exhibitors (Indians- 440 and foreign 310) are participating in the expo. The net area for exhibitors in Bangalore is about 28,000 sq. mtrs. which is higher than the figure of about 25,750 for the exhibition held in Mumbai in 2004. The Society had to deny admission to about 100 exhibitors requiring 2500 sq. mtrs. because of scarcity of space. Prominent Indian manufacturers will show their latest technology. “The New Bangalore airport has been commissioned and it is about 38 km from the exhibition complex. We have appointed the Travel Corporation of India as the travel and hotel accommodation agent for the exhibition to render assistance to exhibitors and visitors,” he said. The Society is arranging special buses from key points of the city to the exhibition complex and back during the exhibition days.
